Ads Continue Eight-Game Road Trip

OVERALL...The Admirals enter tonight's action with a 6-6-1-2 record and 15 points, good for a sixth place tie with San Antonio in a tightly packed West Division. Just four points separates second place Peoria (19 pts) with the sixth place Admirals and San Antonio Rampage. The Ads continue their eight-game road trip, but have just two games this week, Friday and Sunday at Houston. Milwaukee isn't home again until Wednesday December 2 when they host Peoria.

VS. HOUSTON...The Admirals travel to Houston this week for games with the Aeros at the Toyota Center on Friday and Sunday. Last season the Admirals posted a 3-3 record against the Aeros with a 1-2 mark in Houston. The two teams also squared off in the West Division Finals, where the Aeros ended the Ads season with a 4-3 series win. All-time the Admirals and Houston have squared off 100 times with the Admirals posting a 56-34-2-8 mark, including a 25-19-1-6 record in Texas.

LAST WEEK...Milwaukee posted a 1-1-1 record in three games last week, topping Abbotsford 4-1 on Thursday, falling 3-2 in OT Friday night in Grand Rapids, and dropping a 5-4 decision Saturday in Peoria. Against the Heat, Triston Grant finished the night with a Gordie Howe Hat Trick, while Ben Guite chipped in a pair of assists for the Ads, who beat the Heat for the first time in four tries this season. Friday night Milwaukee received goals from Ryan Jones and Dave Scatchard, but lost when Doug Janik scored 1:12 into overtime. On Saturday, the Admirals surrendered a goal just 19 seconds into the game and another with 16 seconds to play in a tough loss to the Rivermen. Cal O'Reilly posted a goal and two assists on the evening to pass the Milwaukee offense.

FAST STARTER...Admirals center Cal O'Reilly is off to another fast start, having posted 17 points (3g-14a) in ten games to start the season, including six points (1g-5a) in the team's three contests last week. The Toronto native is tied for second in the AHL in assists and leads the Admirals in scoring, in spite of missing five of the team's games while in recall to Nashville. In the games that O'Reilly has skated in the Admirals have totaled 31 goals, which means that he has been on the scoresheet for 55% of the goals the Ads have recorded when he plays.

HIT THE ROAD JACK...The Admirals are two games into a season-long eight game road trip. The Ads kicked off the swing with a 3-2 OT loss to Grand Rapids Friday night and then dropped a 5-4 decision on Saturday in Peoria. The Ads have a few days off before flying down to Texas for two games against each of the Lone Star State teams: San Antonio Rampage, Houston Aeros and the Texas Stars. Milwaukee doesn't have another home game until they host Peoria on Wednesday, December 2. The Admirals are certainly used to long road trips, having started the season with six straight contests on foreign ice.

LIGHTING THE LAMP... Dave Scatchard certainly didn't lose his knack for finding the back of the net while on recall with Nashville. The Admirals center scored again in his first two games back and he now leads the team with five markers on the season. Scatchard played nine games with Nashville during his recall, posting a pair of assists while leading the team in face-off winning percentage (58%). He played in his first NHL game since Jan. 27, 2007 on Oct. 21 at Boston, and posted his first NHL point since Jan. 7, 2007 at Ottawa the next night.

SETTING 'EM UP...Defenseman Robert Dietrich has become adept at setting up goals for the Admirals, particularly on the power-play. The Germany native notched another power-play assist Friday night, giving him seven on the season which means that he has assisted on over half of the team's 13 PPGs this year. Overall, the second-year pro has 11 points, all assists, good for second place on the team in scoring.

BACK AND FORTH...In the previous two seasons a total of nine players have seen action for both the Predators and Admirals. Already this season there have been 11 players who have made the trek between Milwaukee and Nashville. Cody Franson, Triston Grant, Ben Guite, Teemu Laakso, Cal O'Reilly, Dave Scatchard, Alexander Sulzer, Mike Santorelli, Ryan Jones, Peter Olvecky, and Andreas Thuresson have all seen action for both squads at this early stage of the year. Of those 11 players, three of them (Franson, Laakso, and Thuresson) have made their NHL debuts.

ALUMNI WATCH...Former Admiral Rich Peverley is off to a hot start with Atlanta this season, averaging more than a point per game (23 points in 17 games) and is currently tied for second in the NHL with three game-winning goals. If he continues on his current pace, the Guelph, ON native would finish the season with over 90 points. Since he was claimed off of waivers by the Thrashers last year, Peverley has accumulated 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points in 56 games. The 2008 AHL All-Star played parts of four seasons with the Admirals and led the squad with 68 points (30g-38a) in the 2006-07 campaign.

SWAPPING DEFENSEMEN...The Admirals swapped defenseman with Cincinnati Thursday, recalling Reid Cashman from the Cyclones and reassigning Jason Jozsa to Cincy. Cashman has posted a goal and nine assists for ten points, which puts him second in the ECHL in defenseman scoring. Last season he notched six points (2g-4a) in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre Scranton and 29 points (7g-22a) in 33 games with the Wheeling Nailers. Jozsa, a former Griffin, had two penalty minutes in four games with the Admirals.

OVER THE AIR AND ON THE WEB...For the third consecutive season Sportsradio 1250 WSSP will serve as the Admirals flagship station with Aaron Sims calling all of the hard-hitting end-to-end action. In addition, the team has a one-hour hockey magazine dubbed "Milwaukee Admirals Center Ice" that airs every Monday from 6-7 p.m. on WSSP.
