
Marlies Release Goaltender Adam Munro From PTO Contract

Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has released goaltender Adam Munro from his professional try-out contract.
Munro, 27, appeared in five games with the Marlies this season, compiling a record of 1-2-1 with a 2.71 goals-against average and 0.919 save percentage. In Munro's first start of the season on October 20, he turned aside 36 saves in the Marlies 3-1 win over the Abbotsford Heat. Last season the St. George, Ontario native posted a 12-11-2 record with a 2.42 goals against average and 0.913 save percentage with the Marlies.
Munro was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round, 29th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
The Marlies continue their six game road trip on Wednesday when they face-off against the Adirondack Phantoms, AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, at 7:00 p.m. The Marlies return home on Saturday afternoon to Ricoh Coliseum at 4:00 p.m. for a tilt against the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. On Sunday, the Marlies host the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, at Ricoh Coliseum at 4:00 p.m. Fans can listen to all Toronto Marlies regular season games on THE FAN 590 or fan590.com.
