San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TX - Rampage forward Jeff Hoggan added his team leading 17th goal of the season, but Milwaukee escaped with a 3-1 win at the AT&T Center on Saturday night before a season-high 7,001 fans and earned a weekend split in the Alamo City.
After San Antonio's 2-1 overtime victory last night, the Rampage and Admirals battled to a scoreless first period.
In the second, Scott Ford blasted a slap shot from just inside the blue line that Kelsey Wilson redirected from the slot to slither past Rampage goalie Josh Tordjman low-stick side 5:39 into the second.
The Rampage answered back quickly as Hoggan took a David Spina pass and tied it up just fifteen seconds into a power play to make it 1-1 at the 7:36 mark. Hoggan has scored a goal in seven of the last eight games.
The Admirals retook the lead when Wilson scored again by sending a wrister high-glove side off the crossbar and over the goal line to put Milwaukee up 2-1 at the 10:12 mark.
Milwaukee held the 2-1 lead into the third then extended it when Hugh Jessiman went high-glove side from the near circle to extend the Admirals lead to 3-1.
Drew MacIntyre played 60 minutes and stopped 33-34 Rampage shots for the win. Tordjman took the loss allowing 3 goals on 31 shots.
Despite the setback, the Rampage have won 13 of their last 18 games and remain one of the hottest teams in the AHL.
San Antonio travels to Rockford for a Tuesday matchup with the IceHogs. The game, originally scheduled for February 21st, was rescheduled to accommodate a Toby Keith concert in Rockford.
The Rampage return home for a weekend series with Peoria on Friday, January 16th and Sunday January 18th. Friday is a KISS Rocks $1 Night with dollar beers and sodas. Sunday's game is an Express News Value Night where a ticket, hot dog, chips and soda are only $12. The puck drops at 7 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
