Canucks re-assign Jaffray to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have re-assigned forward Jason Jaffray to the Moose.

Jaffray, 27, played in 14 games with the Canucks after being recalled on Nov. 30/08. During that span, he scored four points (2-2-4) and collected 14 penalty minutes. He scored the game-winning goal Dec. 5/08 @ Minnesota and has now played in 33 career games with the Canucks where he's scored 10 points (4-6-10).

Prior to being recalled, the Olds, AB native had played in 17 games this season with the Moose where he leas the team in goals with 12 up until Michael Grabner scored his 13th goal Jan. 9/09 @ Iowa. Jaffray missed 19 games. He is still tied for team-lead with five powerplay goals and also has three game-winning goals. His nine-game points streak earlier this season included a natural hat-trick on Nov. 15 vs. Toronto. The Olds, AB native has played in 224 games a Moose in his seven-year pro career. In that time, he has 201 points (84-117-201). In 2006-07, Jaffray was named the team's Most Valuable Player after scoring 35 goals and collecting 81 points to lead the Moose in scoring. He was also named the team's Most Popular Player that season. In 2005-06, he was awarded the team's Unsung Hero Award.
