Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Rosemont, IL--The Milwaukee Admirals four-game points streak came to an end as they were defeated by the Chicago Wolves Saturday at Allstate Arena, 5-1.
Chicago, which outshot the Admirals 37-23, won for the fourth time over Milwaukee in the Amtrak Rivalry.
Chicago took a 1-0 lead with eight minutes remaining in the first period. Michael Davies controlled the puck for the Wolves and fed Paul Postma at right point for a slapshot which was deflected past Admirals goalie Jeremy Smith by Patrice Cormier.
The Wolves added two more in the second period. Spencer Machacek won a battle in front of Smith to put the puck in the net at 6:18 of the second to make it 2-0 in favor of Chicago.
With 27 seconds left in the second period, Milwaukee defensemen Teemu Laakso and Jon Blum were both penalized, setting up a 5-on-3 for the Wolves. Chicago's Jason Krog scored with one second left in the period to send the teams to the second intermission in a game led by the Wolves 3-0.
The Wolves added another power play goal early in the third as Nigel Dawes scored at 34 seconds.
Milwaukee's lone goal was scored by Linus Klasen. Chris Mueller drew a Wolves defender to him and lifted a pass to the Wolves blue line. Klasen went in on a breakaway and scored his team-leading 14th goal at 4:36.
Chicago made it 5-1 when Dawes scored his second of the game at 10:40 of the third.
