Heat fall 5-2 in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE PA - Special teams were the difference on Friday night, as the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded to stop the Abbotsford Heat 5-2 in AHL action on Friday night.

Eric Tangradi paced the Penguins, scoring twice in the win, while Dustin Jeffrey, Brett Sterling and Joe Vitale lit the lamp for the Penguins. Greg Nemisz and Jon Rheault would reply for the Heat, who is now 1-1-1 on this four game road swing.

Leland Irving would be on the hook for all five goals as he took the loss in net for Abbotsford.

The Heat now makes their way to Glens Falls, NY to wrap up their pre-Christmas road trip against the Adirondack Phantoms, with all the exciting Heat action on Country 107.1 FM. The pre-game show will start at 3:50 PM, with the opening faceoff at 4:05 PM.
