GLENS FALLS NY - Early goals in the first and second period on special teams lifted the Adirondack Phantoms to a 2-1 win over the Abbotsford Heat in AHL action on Saturday night in upstate New York.

Michael Ryan scored shorthanded two minutes into the first period while Denis Hamel scored on the power play two minutes into the second period to provide all the scoring the Phantoms would need to pick up their second consecutive win this weekend.

Matt Keith of Aldergrove BC would score his team leading twelfth goal of the season on a Heat power play early in the third period, but it would be the only goal of the game to get by Nic Riopel, who picked up the win for the Phantoms.

Despite the loss, the Heat remain alone in second place in the North Division and will now hit the Christmas Break, with their next action being December 30th versus the Texas Stars.
