Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose (24-22-3-2) saw their 12-game home point streak come to an end with a 6-5 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals (23-20-9-1) on Sunday afternoon at Bell MTS Place. Milwaukee opened the scoring 4:36 into the first when the Admirals took advantage of a Moose turnover, and Duncan Siemens slipped a shot past Eric Comrie. Adam Helewka added to the Admirals lead, finishing off a Milwaukee three-on-one to leave the score at 2-0 in favour of the visitors after the first.
The Moose came out of the break firing. Skyler McKenzie got Manitoba on the board one minute into the period, corralling a loose puck and popping it into the goal. Just 1:47 later, Jansen Harkins burned in off the wing and snapped a shot in off the bar to tie the game. Milwaukee came back 19 seconds later to regain the lead courtesy of a Joe Pendenza tally. The Admirals restored their two-goal advantage at 7:19 of the second on Adam Helewka's second marker of the contest. The visitors stretched it to 5-2 when Eeli Tolvanen found room in front of the Moose net and roofed his shot. Despite some late pressure, the Moose went to the intermission still trailing 5-2.
JC Lipon scored a shorthanded tally 7:06 into the third to start the Moose on a comeback trail. Manitoba got within one with 6:45 left on the clock when Alexis D'Aoust's long shot found its way by Troy Grosenick. McKenzie came inches away from tying the game in the final two minutes, but his shot hit the post. The Moose continued to press, but Matt Donovan's backhand clearance from his own end found the empty net to make the gap two goals again. Manitoba didn't go away quietly as Lipon scored his second of the period 10 seconds later to again cut the Admirals lead to one. The Moose couldn't complete the comeback and fell by a 6-5 final score.

Forward Skyler Mckenzie - "They were quicker to the pucks. Their second guy was a lot quicker than ours. We weren't playing our usual game, and I think that's what kind of got us."
Defenceman Cameron Schilling - "I think we are getting confidence every game. Being able to come from behind, I think that's kind of a trait of a winning team, is being able to come from behind. I think we showed it there. Obviously we came up a bit short, but when we were down 2-0 we didn't panic or anything, made it 2-2, then down 4-2... and still didn't panic."
