Norfolk Admirals News Release

Adam Munro's 42-save performance and Martin St. Pierre's goal and assist led the Admirals' come-from-behind effort, as Norfolk erased a third-period deficit to beat the Bears 2-1.

The goaltenders prevailed in the opening twenty minutes. Kirk Daubenspeck made nine saves for the Bears and Munro had a very strong stanza with 17 saves for Norfolk. The teams skated to the locker rooms scoreless after one period.

Hershey got on board first with a fluky goal early in the second period. Mike Green threw the puck toward the crease from the far-side corner. The puck deflected off Munro's stick and went through his pads at 4:39. The Bears led 1-0 after forty minutes.

The Admirals began their comeback early in the final frame. St. Pierre pick-pocketed the puck from a Hershey attacker in the Bears' zone and sent a heavy wrist shot just under the crossbar at 2:34. Munro continued his strong play in the third period, stopping all 16 shots he saw. Norfolk won the game on another St. Pierre steal with 2:47 left. The Admirals' leading rookie stole the puck and sent a quick pass to Matt Keith at the top of the crease. Keith one-timed it into a half-empty cage to give the Admirals a 2-1 win.

Adam Munro stopped 42 of 43 shots to earn the victory. Kirk Daubenspeck was saddled with the loss and stopped 23 of 25 shots.

Norfolk was 0-6 on the power play. Hershey was 0-4.
