CLEVELAND, OH -- Maxime Lapierre scored two goals for the Hamilton Bulldogs Saturday night spoiling the Barons final home game in the city of Cleveland. Three different Barons players scored goals for the team in a 3-2 loss in front of more than 7,000 fans.

Lapierre's game-winning goal occurred just past the midpoint of the final frame as he jammed a puck past a sprawled out Dimitri Patzold. The goal gave Hamilton a 4-2 advantage after Francis Lemieux secured a 3-2 lead bouncing a puck off a Barons defender and into the Clevealnd net. Tomas Plihal answered for the Barons with his 11th of the year and seventh in the last seven games with 63-seconds remaining to climb to within a goal.

Josh Hennessy scored the only goal of the second period to tie the game 2-2. The goal was Hennessy's 23rd of the year setting a Barons franchise record for rookie goal scoring.

The opening goal of the night came just 34-seconds into the first period as Lapierre scored on a rebound to give Hamilton the 1-0 lead. The Barons answered in the see-saw first frame on Matt Carkner's 10th goal of the year at the 3:47 mark. Ryane Clowe and Josh Hennessy assisted on the goal by Carkner, his fifth point (2+3=5) in the last four games. The Bulldogs regained the lead on a rebound tally from Duncan Milroy, who converted his 16th of the year past a sprawled out Barons goaltender Dimtri Patzold.

Wednesday night these same two teams meet at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario for their eighth and final meeting of the season. The game on Wednesday begins a three-game road trip for the Barons to complete the 05-06 season. Thursday and Saturday the Barons will play at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Moose.
