Adirondack Frostbite News Release
LAST WEEK: Adirondack went 2-2-0 last week, picking up wins against Roanoke and Elmira, while losing to Rockford and Elmira. The Frostbite enter this week with a record of 36-18-4 for 76 points, and are in second place of the Eastern Division. Adirondack trails Danbury by seven points with four games in hand.
Wednesday, March 8 @ Roanoke FROSTBITE 8 Vipers 3
Frank Bakrlik notched four points (2g, 2a), while Mike Berry and Sylvain Cloutier added two goals a piece to lead the Frostbite to a big win in Roanoke. With the Frostbite leading 3-2 late in the second period, Bakrlik provided a spark heading into the final period, scoring a shorthanded goal at the 17:43 mark. The Frostbite then went on to score four goals in an 8:27 span in the third period to go on top 8-2. The Vipers added a score with 54 seconds left to set the final.
Friday, March 10 vs. Rockford IceHogs 4 FROSTBITE 2
Adirondack's nine-game home unbeaten streak came to an end as the Frostbite fell to Rockford 4-2. The IceHogs started quickly, scoring a pair of goals in the opening nine minutes of the contest. The Frostbite pulled within one on a Frank Bakrlik power-play goal at 13:47 of the second period, and then tied the score 2:40 into the third on a Kevin Watters power-play tally. Rockford went back on top on a Jason Notermann goal at 11:37, and added an empty-net tally from Rob Voltera with one minute left to seal the win.
Saturday, March 11 vs. Elmira Jackals 3 FROSTBITE 1
Greg Koehler opened the game quickly for the Frostbite, scoring his 10th goal of the season just 31 seconds into the first period. But, Elmira came right back, knotting the score on a Konstantin Kalmikov power-play goal 1:14 later. Kalmikov put the Jackals on top to stay 13:48 into the second period. Jarrett Konkle finished the scoring, adding a power-play goal at 7:19 of the second. Adirondack out-shot Elmira 34-22 for the game, and 15-2 in the third period.
Sunday, March 12 vs. Elmira FROSTBITE 6 Jackals 1
Adirondack ended its two-game losing streak with a big win over Elmira. Scott Drevitch opened the scoring 9:07 into the first period, only to see the Jackals pull even 20 seconds later on a Kevin Cooper goal. Drevitch scored the go-ahead goal on a power-play opportunity 58 seconds into the second, and Ryan Prentice gave the Frostbite a two-goal advantage before the end of the period, scoring his fourth of the season at 12:40. In the final period, Drevitch completed the hat trick, while Mark Hurtubise and Ryan Bennett also found the back of the net to set the final.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Wednesday, March 15 vs. Roanoke 7:05 p.m.
Adirondack and Roanoke meet for the 10th of 12 times this season. The Frostbite are 9-0-0 overall against the Vipers this season, and 5-0-0 at home. Adirondack has out-scored Roanoke 54-25 in the first nine meetings this season. The Vipers are 15-37-6 for 36 points and are in fifth place of the Eastern Division.
PROMOTIONS: Wednesday's game will be played on green ice, and the Frostbite will wear special green jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Green beer will be served during the game, and bagpipers from Galloway Gaelic Pipes and Drums will be performing. The first 500 fans in attendance, 18 and older, will receive a scratch-off lottery ticket courtesy of the New York Lottery. Also, it's a Wacky Wednesday, with 14-ounce drafts of Bud, Bud Light, and Coors Light just $2 all night long, and it's another Family Four Pack Night, with four tickets four slices of pizza, and four sodas just $50.
Friday, March 17 @ Motor City 7:30 p.m.
Adirondack opens a four-game road trip in Fraser, MI against the Motor City Mechanics. The two teams split a pair of meetings in Glens Falls in December. Motor City is in third place of the Central Division with a record of 32-26-4 for 68 points. The Mechanics currently hold one of the two wild-card spots for the Colonial Cup Playoffs.
Saturday, March 18 @ Rockford 8:05 p.m.
The Frostbite take on the IceHogs for the second and final time during the regular season. Rockford leads the United Hockey League with a record of 43-12-6 for 92 points. The IceHogs are an impressive 24-4-2 at the Rockford MetroCentre this season.
FROSTBITE NOTES
- Scott Drevitch's hat trick on Sunday was his second hat trick of the season, and the sixth by a Frostbite player. Prior to Sunday, Drevitch had not scored a goal since February 3 against Roanoke, the night of his first hat trick this season.
- Ryan Bennett enters the week on a six-game scoring streak (4g, 4a). He has tallied 15 goals in the Frostbite's 16 games.
- Sylvain Cloutier is the only Frostbite player to appear in all 58 games this season. - Adirondack has held nine consecutive opponents to fewer than 30 shots on goal. Over that span, the Frostbite are allowing just 22.67 shots on goal per game, more than six shots fewer than their season average (28.93).

FROSTBITE ON THE AIR
All 76 Frostbite regular season games can be heard on WCKM 98.5 FM and on-line at www.frostbitehockey.com with the Voice of the Frostbite, Joe Babik. Each broadcast begins 20 minutes prior to face-off with the Frostbite Pre-Game Show. In addition, all Frostbite games are available to watch on a pay-per-view basis in conjunction with B2 Networks. The B2 Networks feed can be accessed through the Frostbite website at www.frostbitehockey.com. Every Monday during the season, WCKM airs the "In the Box" Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The show is hosted by WCKM morning personality, and Frostbite PA announcer, Dan Miner. Dan is joined on the show each week by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Dane Jackson, Frostbite Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik, and a different Frostbite player.
