Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- Greg Koehler scored four goals and added an assist, while Kris Tebbs made 39 saves, in leading the Adirondack Frostbite to an 8-3 win over the Muskegon Fury in game four of their first-round playoff series. The series is now tied at two games a piece.
For the second straight game, the Frostbite scored three times in the opening period. Blue Bennefield opened the scoring just 1:38 in with his second goal of the playoffs, while Ryan Bennett and Koehler tallied later in the period for the 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Hugo Belanger gave the Frostbite a four-goal cushion with his third of the series 6:22 into the second. Starting goaltender Clayton Pool was pulled in favor of Nick Boucher following the goal.
Boucher fared no better as Mark Hurtubise and Koehler scored just 13 seconds apart giving Adirondack a 6-0 lead, and Pool re-entered the game after just 4:11.
Koehler capped his hat trick just 17 seconds into the third to make it 7-0. Muskegon scored three times in a 3:22 span late in the period to spoil Tebbs' shutout bid and cut the deficit to 7-3.
But, Koehler finished his big night with a power-play goal at 19:39 to set the final. Koehler's four goals tie the Adirondack team record for goals in a game with Sylvain Cloutier who scored four goals earlier this season in Roanoke, and Frank Littlejohn who turned the trick in 2000-01.
The pivotal fifth game of the series is set for Saturday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center at 7:35 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office or by calling (518) 798-0202.
