Mallards Sweep UHL Weekly Awards

Moline, IL- The United Hockey League announced on Monday that Mallards forward Chad Woollard is the UHL Player of the Week and Mallards netminder Terry Friesen is the UHL Goaltender of the Week. The team went 3-1-0 last week thanks in large part to the duo's efforts.

Woollard recorded 10 points (six goals and four points) during four games last week. He began the week with a three point night (one goal and two assists) vs. Port Huron. On Saturday, Woollard recorded the first Mallards hat trick of 2005-06 in a 5-2 win over Fort Wayne. The Mallards leading scorer capped the week by scoring two goals with two assists during Sunday's 7-3 win over Missouri.

Friesen went 2-0-0 in two appearances last week. The Winkler, Manitoba native stopped 22 shots on Wednesday in a 4-1 win over Port Huron. He also was between the pipes during Sunday's 7-3 win over Missouri. Friesen made 36 saves to earn the win.

The Mallards return to the ice on Friday in Port Huron. Game time is 6:30 p.m. central time. The Maroon Mortgage Pre-Game Show begins at 6:05 p.m. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report.
