
Danbury Thrashers complete blockbuster trade

DANBURY, CT-The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL), have completed a major trade with the Roanoke Valley Vipers, it was announced by Team President A.J. Galante. In a 2-for-1 deal, the Trashers acquired LW David-Alexandre Beauregard from the Roanoke Valley Vipers for RW Carlyle Lewis and defenseman Frederic Belanger.
In Beauregard, Danbury has added a top-flight scorer who has notched 30+ goals in eight of his nine full professional seasons. A native of Montreal PQ, Beauregard is currently leading the Vipers with 76 points on 33 goals in 56 games played. He has scored 50+ goals three times and led the UHL with 47 goals during the 2004-05 season.
Beauregard, 30, was named the Most Valuable Player for Paul Gillis' Team Aquafina in the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic, held in St. Charles, MO in January with a four-goal performance.
Lewis, 28, has 21 points on nine goals in 45 games and was second on the Trashers with 221 penalty minutes, while Belanger, 25, had 27 points on five goals with a +18 in 57 games at the time of his departure.
Danbury returns to the ice on Friday March 17th against Roanoke starting at 7:30pm. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, the Trashers are wearing special themed jerseys that are being auctioned off. Visit DanburyTrashers.com for more information.
