TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The fourth of nine meetings and the second of four here. The ‘Gades are 1-2 vs. the Titans, 0-1 here. Alex Matieroukine and Lars Pettersen have four points each vs. the Titans. Adam Edinger has five points vs. the ‘Gades. Richmond is in a fifth place tie in the Northeast Division with Greensboro. The ‘Gades have 12 points, two behind the Titans and five back of first place Atlantic City. The Titans are second in the Northeast, one point back of Reading and Roanoke.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Gades lost 5-2 at Pee Dee last night. Richmond twice rallied to tie the game on goals by Lars Pettersen and Milt Mastad. The Pride scored three times in the last 6:47 to earn their fifth straight win. Greg Schmidt had a goal and three assists to lead Pee Dee. The ‘Gades were four for four on the penalty kill, including two five-on-threes. The Titans lost 3-1 at Atlantic City last night. Adam Edinger scored the only Titans goal.

‘GADES NOTES: The 15 shots allowed by the ‘Gades Monday is the lowest surrendered by Richmond since November 28, 1998 when the ‘Gades held the Johnstown Chiefs to 14 shots and lost 3-2. David Brosseau has points in three straight games. Marc Magliarditi now has 116 career wins and is sixth in ECHL history. Magliarditi has started four straight games. The ‘Gades are 4-0 in overtime this season. Richmond wrapped up a six game road trip last night with a 4-2 record. Richmond played 10 of their first 13 on the road. The ‘Gades now play four straight, seven of their next eight, and 10 of their next 12 games at home. Seven players on the 'Gades roster were not in the opening night lineup. The ‘Gades have nine former NHL draft picks on the club. Richmond has eight rookies on the club. The ‘Gades six game winning goals have been scored by five different players. The ‘Gades next five games are against Northeast Division opponents. Richmond is tied for fifth in the ECHL in fewest shots on goal against (29). The ‘Gades were 28-31 (90.3%) on the penalty kill during the road trip.

TITANS NOTES: The Titans are winless in their last three games (0-2-1). Trenton is the two time defending Northeast Division champion. The Titans have enjoyed back to back 100-plus point seasons. Bill Armstrong is Trenton's fourth coach in four years. Washington Capitals coach Bruce Cassidy coached the Titans in ‘99-'00. Cody Rudkowsky was the Titans opening night starter in goal against Richmond. He is now with the St. Louis Blues. The Titans currently have three other players away on call-ups: Eric Betorunay, Ian Forbes, and Matt Zultek with Philadelphia of the AHL. The Titans also have four players on IR. Since the ‘Gades and Titans last met (last Friday), the Titans have added five players: J.F. David, Daniel Tetrault, Craig Brunel, Brad Mehalko, and Jack Baker. The Titans are fifth in the league in penalty killing (85%) and fourth in fewest shots on goal against (27.9).
