
Bombers Edge Boardwalk Bullies 2-1 in a Shootout

Goalie Andrew Allen made 39 saves as the Dayton Bombers defeated the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Dayton Bombers (5-6-2) are 4-0-2 in their last six games and are 3-0-1 on their current five game road stretch.
J.F. Caudron's backdoor goal had put Atlantic City ahead 12:57 into the first period. Allen helped keep it a one-goal game for the Bombers with 13 saves in the first period alone.
The score remained tied until the third period when Andrew Williamson roofed a shot over goalie Scott Stirling from in close. Mike Vellinga and Jamie Ling assisted on the goal.
The shootout session went beyond five rounds with the score tied at two. But Ryan Vince tallied in the sixth round, then Allen denied Jim Henkel to secure the Bombers' victory.
The Bombers road trip will conclude this Tuesday in Trenton (7:00 p.m.). The Bombers will return home for a game Friday, November 15 vs. Wheeling (7:30 p.m.).
