MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, have signed defenseman Matthew Register to a one-year American Hockey League contract and have loaned Register to the ECHL's Ontario Reign, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Register, 23, started the 2012-13 season with the Central Hockey League's Tulsa Oilers registering a goal and 10 assists for 11 points and 11 penalty minutes in 25 games. Most recently, the six-foot-two, 195-pound defenseman has recorded a goal and four assists for five points and 20 penalty minutes in 26 games for the CHL's Arizona Sundogs. Register suited up for the CHL's Allen Americans in the 2011-12 season tallying a goal and three assists for four points and two penalty minutes in 22 games. The Calgary, Alberta native played four seasons (2006-10) in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Bonnyville Pontiacs tallying 30 goals and 64 assists for 94 assists and 170 penalty minutes in 166 games.
