
7 Different Goal Scorers Lift Cougars Over Blazers

KAMLOOPS BC - The Prince George Cougars wrapped up their road portion of the regular season schedule with an emphatic 7-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers on Friday at the Sandman Centre.
Cayden Glover, Carlin Dezainde, Caden Brown, Koehn Ziemmer, Blake Eastman, Zac Funk, and Arjun Bawa supplied the Cougar offence, while Ty Young was magnificent in goal making 34 saves for his 14th victory of the season.
Kamloops got the scoring started at 1:43 from a Connor Levis tip in to make it 1-0. The Cars responded with three goals of their own in the first, getting markers from Cayden Glover, Carlin Dezainde, and a near buzzer beater from Caden Brown to make it 3-1 after 20 minutes.
In the second, the Cougars added to the lead getting goals from Koehn Ziemmer off a great pass from Riley Heidt, and then Blake Eastman scoring a short-handed goal courtesy off great work from Carlin Deazinde. The Cats took a 5-1 lead into the dressing room after 40 minutes. The Cougars had to kill four penalties in the second period and got some big shot blocks from all the penalty killers and some big saves from Ty Young.
In the 3rd, Zac Funk added some insurance, 91 seconds into the period, to make it 6-1. Caedan Bankier made it 6-2 at 9:50, and then Arjun Bawa added some fuel to the Cougars fire, scoring his 5th of the year to make it 7-2. The Cougars earn their third win over the Blazers this season with the big victory.
