6,669 Fans Watch Grizzlies Raise $17,725 to Fight Breast Cancer

West Valley City, Utah - The Alaska Aces (35-15-2-2) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (27-20-3-5) 2-1 at Maverik Center Friday night before 6,669 fans for the team's eighth annual "Pink in the Rink" game for breast cancer awareness.

$17,275 was raised to fight breast cancer in the team's post-game jersey auction from the evening's game.

The Grizzlies host Alaska again Saturday at 7 p.m. There will be a post-game skate with the team after the game. In addition, fans in attendance will receive a D.J. Jelitto "Hometown Boy" poster upon entering the arena.

Alaska scored a power-play goal in the first and a power-play goal in the third before Jamie MacQueen got Utah on the board with 1:50 left in regulation as the Grizzlies skated with an extra attacker to make it 2-1. Phil Mangan and Vinny Scarsella drew assists.

Igor Bobkov (11-5-2-2) stopped 22 of 24 shots as he loses in regulation for the first time since November 22 as his personal 11-game unbeaten streak at 9-0-1-1 comes to an end.

The Grizzlies outshot Alaska 29-24 in the contest, though Alaska drew six of the nine power-plays.
