
Eagles Win 4-3 against Condors in Short OT

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Colorado Eagles (27-16-6-4) overtook the Bakersfield Condors (25-22-2-3) 4-3 on Friday night at Rabobank Arena just twenty seconds into overtime.
Eagles forward Luke Fulghum gave the Eagles the early 1-0 lead after beating Condors netminder Laruent Brossoit glove-side just 4:24 into the first frame.
Less than two minutes into the second period, Bakersfield forward Matt Thurber tied it at 1-1 with a goal from the high slot. Condors took their first lead of the game, 2-1, as forward Chris Collins sent a slapshot from the center of the left circle over Eagles goalie Marc Cheverie 9:17 into the second.
Colorado would tie the game, 2-2, as forward Kyle Ostrow tipped a pass from defenseman Daniel Johnston over Brossoit just over three minutes into the third stanza. Fulghum netted his second goal of the game, 4:56into the third, to give the Eagles back their lead, 3-2.The Condors answered with a power-play goal from forward Gary Steffes with less than five minutes left in the third.
The Eagles and Condors headed into 4-on-4 sudden death overtime tied at three, but the Eagles didn't waste any time as Ostrow scored the game-winner just twenty seconds into overtime. Brossoit stopped 24 of Colorado's 28 shots while Cheverie halted 36 of the 38 shots he faced to secure the Eagles 4-3 victory over the Condors.
