2006 Seattle Storm home opener this Sunday at KeyArena

SEATTLE -The Seattle Storm will open their 2006 season on FSN Northwest against Western Conference rival Los Angeles at KeyArena beginning at 6 p.m. this Sunday, May 21. The following Tuesday, May 23, Seattle will host the Houston Comets at 8 p.m. The Houston game will be televised to a national audience on ESPN2.

The first 5,000 fans through the KeyArena doors on opening night will receive a free 2006 Storm Magnet Schedule courtesy of Starbucks Coffee featuring an image of Lauren Jackson. The first 5,000 fans in the arena will also receive a glow-in-the-dark bracelet in one of the team's three colors; red, green or gold.

Prior to tipoff, fans will experience a performance of the national anthem by 13-year old Hillsboro, OR. native Savannah Outen. Bounce, named the 2005 Circus Act of the Year from the Great Moscow Circus is scheduled to perform at halftime.

Other Opening Night activities include face painting and sign-making stations located on KeyArena's concourse. Fans will have an opportunity to get a sneak preview on KeyArena's West Plaza of Storm Mascot Doppler's new ride; a silver Mini Cooper courtesy of Northwest Mini. Also debuting at KeyArena this Sunday is FanShots, the official photography program for Storm fans.

When the 2006 Storm team takes the court for the first time this season, they will do so via the KeyArena seating aisles, giving fans an opportunity to "high-five" their favorite players. KeyArena doors open at 5 p.m.

The Seattle Sonics & Storm organization manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises - the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
