Fifth Consecutive Opening Day Sell Out for the Monarchs

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 19, 2006 - The Sacramento Monarchs announced today that Opening Day on Saturday, May 20, 2006, versus the Phoenix Mercury, is sold out for the fifth consecutive season.
"Once again, this is an extremely exciting event for both the Monarchs organization and the City of Sacramento," said Danette Leighton, vice president of marketing & brand development and Monarchs business operations for Maloof Sports & Entertainment. "We are incredibly thankful to our fans and for the support of the community. Our first ever Championship Ring Ceremony will make this season's Opening Day one to remember."
The Sacramento Monarchs will celebrate their 10th Anniversary Season as one of the original eight members of the WNBA on Opening Day. Each fan in attendance on Opening Day will receive a 10th Anniversary commemorative pin and a Monarchs Championship replica ring. Opening Day will also feature the Monarchs Championship Ring Ceremony scheduled for 12:40 p.m. (tip-off is at 1:00 p.m.).
With tickets starting at just $10, Sacramento Monarchs games offer fun, affordable, summer entertainment for the whole family. The Sacramento Monarchs will play 17 regular season home games at ARCO Arena. Tickets are available for all remaining Monarchs home games, including the next game on Thursday, May 25, versus the Houston Comets.
