UNCASVILLE, CT. (May 19, 2006) - The Connecticut Sun waived Jennifer Derevjanik and Donna Loffhagen Friday.
Derevjanik, a 5-foot-10 guard from George Mason, spent the past two seasons with Sun. Last season, she served as Lindsay Whalen's primary back-up, appearing in all 34 games including one start and averaging 1.2 assists. In three preseason games, she averaged 3.7 points, 1.7 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 14.7 minutes.
The 6-2 Loffhagen was signed as a free agent on February 27th. The forward from New Zealand averaged 3.3 points and four rebounds in three preseason games.
