TEAM NOTES
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: As the 2006 season begins today, the Liberty is commemorating its 10th Anniversary... The team was one of eight charter members of the WNBA back in 1997, along with Charlotte, Cleveland, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento and Utah... Among those original members, the Cleveland Rockers disbanded and the Utah Starzz re-located to San Antonio and became the Silver Stars... Therefore, the Liberty is one of just six teams currently in the WNBA to be celebrating its own 10th Anniversary along with the league's in 2006.
BETTER LUCK THIS YEAR: Season openers have not been too lucky for the Liberty thus far... In nine years of action, the Liberty is just 2-7 in its opening games... The team has lost six straight, starting in 2000 ... The Liberty will look to reverse its opening day fortune today in Connecticut.
