
18th Annual Wheelchair Hockey Game Set for March 31st

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder have partnered with Wheelchair Sports Inc. for the last 17 seasons. This year's edition of the Thunder vs. Plunder will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 31st at North High School, which will be the 18th time the two have met on the hardwood for the Annual Wheelchair Hockey game.
Tickets are just $5 for adults and kids 12 and under are free. The team will wear a special jersey during the game, which will be auctioned off afterwards with the profits benefiting Wheelchair Sports Inc. Fans can purchase tickets at the Thunder game on March 30th or at the door the day of the event.
The Plunder is a group of wheelchair athletes from the area associated with Wheelchair Sports, Inc. WSI provides athletic opportunities for disabled individuals. Nick Taylor, who is the Vice President of WSI and Director of Hockey, is excited once again to put on this great event for the community.
"Wheelchair sports inc. is extremely excited to partner again with the Wichita Thunder," commented Nick Taylor, Vice President of WSI and Director of Hockey. "Without this partnership, we would not be able to deliver our mission of providing athletic opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This game both creates awareness and fun for our organization."
Wheelchair Sports, Inc. is a non-profit (501c-3) corporation dedicated to the promotion of adaptive sports and recreation in south-central Kansas. Wheelchair Sports Inc., has multiple events through the year including tennis tournaments, hand cycle races, snow skiing, and a variety of other recreational activities, all of these being geared toward disabled individuals of all ages. The goals of WSI are to provide, promote, encourage and engage in sports, physical fitness, and recreational activities designed for individuals with physical disabilities.

The Thunder continues their eight-game road trip on Tuesday night in Kansas City starting at 7:05 p.m.
