Early Burst Sends Nuts to 8-1 Loss

July 16, 2018 - Modesto, CA. - Ten doubles sent the Modesto Nuts to an 8-1 loss to the Stockton Ports on Sunday night at John Thurman Field. Six of the doubles were recorded against the Nuts' (39-56; 9-16) starter Erik Espinal (L, 0-1) who was up from the Arizona League for a spot start. After hitting the first batter of the game, Espinal surrendered back-to-back RBI doubles before a sac fly capped the three-run first inning. July 15, 2018 - Modesto, CA. - Three arms dominated the Stockton Ports in the Modesto Nuts' 4-1 victory on Saturday night at John Thurman Field. Nick Wells (W, 3-2) started the game for the Nuts (39-55; 9-15) and surrendered just one unearned run in the third inning. He did have to work around multiple baserunners in three of his six frames but finished with a bang by posting his first 1-2-3 inning in the sixth. Two-Out Rally Dooms Nuts in 4-2 Loss

July 14, 2018 - Modesto, CA. - A fifth-inning error opened the door for the game-deciding rally in the Modesto Nuts' 4-2 loss to the Stockton Ports on Friday night at John Thurman Field. With the game tied in the fifth, Reggie McClain (L, 3-7) recorded the first two outs against the Ports (57-36; 13-10). Luis Barrera and Nate Mondou singled to spark the rally.
