September 9, 2025 - Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne Komets announced today that the team will face the Iowa Heartlanders for an exhibition match-up at Thunder Ice Arena on the campus of Trine University in Angola, Indiana, on Sunday, October 12, at 2:00 p.m.
Admission to the game will be free of charge courtesy of Trine University, and general admission tickets will be available at the door on a first-come, first-served basis. September 4, 2025 - Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne Komets announced today that Leni DiCostanzo has been named head equipment manager and Dan Rosselli will serve as the team's certified athletic trainer for the 2025-26 season.
DiCostanzo, 40, spent 16 seasons in the New York Islanders organization before coming to Fort Wayne. The Port Jefferson Station, New York, native was the head equipment manager for the Islanders' AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, from 2009-2010 through the 2017-2018 season, before being promoted to the NHL as... September 3, 2025 - The Fort Wayne Komets mourn the loss of former Komet Lonnie Loach, who passed away on Monday after a bout with cancer at the age of 57.
On April 21, 1991, Loach scored arguably the most important goal in Komets' history with an overtime game 7 goal at Indianapolis to defeat the defending Turner Cup champs. Eventually, he led the Komets to the Turner Cup final. It was the first season of Franke ownership, and that goal led to the rebirth of Komet hockey. August 26, 2025 - Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne Komets' pre-season roster grew to 24 players today with the additions of forward Max Patterson and defenseman Jake Willets. Also, goaltenders Dylan Ernst and Henry Graham have agreed to tryout agreements.
Patterson, 25, skated six games with Fort Wayne last season without registering a point. Before joining the Komets, the 6'6 winger played four seasons at the University of Calgary, scoring 27 goals with 44 assists in 89 games.
