Tonight, Jarrod Skalde's team looks for its seventh victory in nine games as they play host to the Fort Wayne Komets for the first time since April 17, 1999 when the teams met as IHL rivals. The Cyclones lead the eight-game season series by a 2-0 count thus far.

TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: Throwback Night / Teddy Bear Toss - Fans can purchase $8 tickets! Plus, enjoy $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, Donatos Pizza, Soda, and Beer! And fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently-loved teddy bear to toss on the ice after the Cyclones score their first goal. The collection of plus will be donated to the Cincinnati Police Department. Finally, the Cyclones will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game!

SCOUTING THE KOMETS: After another defeat last night, Al Simms' club has slipped six points back of Cincinnati, with two additional games played. Forward Brandon Marino, who was held off the scoreboard last night, is far-and-away the Komets strongest player on offense. The fifth-year pro has notched 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 33 games this season, ranking third among all ECHL players. His closest teammate, points-wise, is Brett Smith - who has 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) in 30 games. Goaltender Marco Cousineau fell to his second defeat of the year, evening his 2012-13 record at 2-2 with a 3.23 goals-against average. Former Miami RedHawk Charlie Effinger and Ken Reiter had split time between the pipes for Fort Wayne prior to the arrival of Cousineau; Effinger, who shouldered the loss in the first meeting with Cincinnati, is 7-7-1-0 this season with a 3.62 goals-against average. Reiter, a Minnesota-Duluth alum, has amassed a 8-6-0-1 record with a 3.06 GAA.

About Last Night in Fort Wayne: Mike Embach's third period goal turned out to be the game winner as the Cyclones knocked off the Komets by a 4-2 final score in front of 7,329 at Memorial Coliseum. It is the fastest that Cincinnati has reached the 20-win plateau since the 2009-10 campaign and third-fastest in club history.

First Dibs: Cincinnati forward Garrett Wilson continues to be a force in his "sophomore" season. The Elmvale, Ontario native leads the ECHL with six "first goals" this season. He ranks fourth on the team in scoring and played in his 100th game as a professional last night in Fort Wayne.

The Race to 20 Wins: With their triumph last night in Fort Wayne, the Cyclones picked up their 20th win of the season. This year is the fastest they've reached the 20-win plateau since the 2009-10 Cyclones earned it on January 2 and the third fastest in club history.

They're Killing It: Cincinnati's penalty-kill unit has been among the league's best of late. They have extinguished 18 of their last 20 power plays against and rank 9th in the ECHL. Overall, the Clones have killed off 83.3%.
