Stampede Acquire Summers

BOISE, Idaho, November 5, 2012 - The Idaho Stampede have acquired Durrell Summers (6-4, 205, Michigan State, b. 4/2/89) in a trade with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the team announced today.

Summers was selected 61st overall (13th pick of 4th round) in the 2012 NBA D-League draft last Friday night. Summers is entering his second professional season after a stellar career at Michigan State. Last season with the Maine Red Claws, Summers averaged 10.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 25.3 minutes per game in 12 contests (6 starts).

In four years at Michigan State, Summers played 145 games (67 starts) from 2007-11. Summers averaged 9.1 points per game in his career. Before his time at MSU, Summers was an All-State player out of Detroit (Redford Covenant Christian), averaging 34.5 points, 16.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals as a high school senior.

In exchange for Summers, the Stampede sent their 2013 third round draft pick along with 2012 8th round draft pick Harouna Mutombo to Santa Cruz. Mutombo was selected 115th overall out of Western Carolina.
