Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, NEV., November 5, 2012 - The Reno Bighorns completed two trades today, acquiring Garrett Temple and Jack McClinton from the Erie Bayhawks and Dar Tucker from the Canton Charge.

The Bighorns traded Mike Harris and Demonte Harper to the Erie Bayhawks in exchange for Garrett Temple, Jack McClinton and Alex Ruoff. The Bighorns acquired both Harris and Harper in last Friday's D-League Draft. The 'Horns then traded Ruoff and Arinze Onuaku, who they drafted in the fourth round, to the Canton Charge for Dar Tucker.

"We got one of the best point guards I've been around," said Coach Mokeski. "As a rookie in Rio Grande Valley, he was a key player in our championship run. Not only is he a great player on the court, he is a great character guy off the court."

Temple (6-6, 195) has played for the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat. Most recently, he appeared in six games for the Heat during the pre-season, averaging 3.6 points per game. Temple attended Louisiana State University, where he is the school's all-time leader in minutes played. He also played for Bighorns head coach Paul Mokeski when the two were with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the D-League.

"When the Miami Heat waived Garrett, the coaching staff discussed with me how it would be great to get him here in Reno," said Bighorns owner Herb Santos, Jr. "Our coaching staff was able get him here without losing a first round pick. With our obtaining Jack McClinton as part of the deal, it was an early Christmas present."

McClinton (6-1, 195) attended the University of Miami, where he averaged 19.1 points as a senior. He was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs.

Tucker (6-4, 205) won the NBA D-League Slam Dunk contest in both 2010 and 2011. He was also named the D-League's Most Improved Player in 2011. "In Tucker, we are getting one of the most exciting, athletic players in the D-League," Coach Mokeski said.

Temple, McClinton and Tucker will be with the Bighorns when they open training camp this Saturday.

The Bighorns open their fifth season in Reno on Friday, November 30 at the Reno Events Center. Season tickets and group tickets are on sale today. For more information, fans can call 775-853-8220.
