Crunch Knocked Down by Hershey

Syracuse, NY (December 2, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch fell to the Hershey Bears by a score of 4-1, Friday night at the War Memorial Arena.

The Bears found the net first on a goal by right wing Matt Pope just over five minutes into the first period. Pope's shot got past Crunch goaltender Iiro Tarkki to give the Bears a 1-0 lead, 5:40 into the first period. Pope's goal was assisted by Graham Mink and Christian Hanson.

With Bears left wing Maxime Lacroix serving a high-sticking penalty, the Crunch scored a power-play goal to tie the game 1-1. Patrick Maroon deflected a Nick Schaus shot past Hershey netminder Braden Holtby for his ninth goal of the season.

However, just 49 seconds later, the Bears regained the lead off of a Tomas Kundratek goal assisted by Keith Aucoin and Chris Bourque.

Deep into the second period, Hershey's Mink found the net on the power play to put the Bears up 3-1. Mink was assisted by Ryan Potulny and Aucoin.

Matthew Ford added to the Bears' lead with eight minutes remaining in the third period. The goal was assisted by Aucoin and Pope, bringing the score to 4-1 Hershey.

Crunchables: Nicolas Deschamps and Mat Clark played in their 100th game with the Crunch tonight...they have played in every game of the Crunch-Ducks affiliation...Coming into tonight's action, Bryan Rodney was tied for fourth among AHL defensemen with 14 points... Nick Bonino has his five-game point streak snapped.
