Evansville Otters Sign Outfielder Troy Frazier

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters have announced the signing of outfielder Troy Frazier.

Frazier began this season in the Pecos League playing for the Roswell Invaders, where the Louisville, Kentucky native hit .303 with four home runs and 19 runs batted in.

Frazier concluded his collegiate career in 2010 with Cumberland (Ky.) University, where he was an NAIA First Team All-American. The right-handed hitter batted .366 with 22 home runs and 67 RBIs. Troy was also voted to the World Series All-Tournament Team and First Team All-TranSouth.

The newest Evansville Otter also played two seasons for the University of Kentucky and suited up for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers as a freshman.

Frazier also was an accomplished player in high school, where he was All-State in his junior and senior seasons in Kentucky .

In a corresponding move, the Otters have placed pitcher Jeremy Thorne on the 7-day disabled list while moving first baseman Mike Durant to the 14-day DL.

Frazier and the Evansville Otters visit the Normal CornBelters tonight in the final game of the series at the Corn Crib. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CDT.
