LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks are giving another former Ohio State Buckeye his first shot at professional baseball.

The RiverHawks announced Saturday that they have signed rookie pitcher Theron Minium and placed catcher Elvin Millan, Jr. on the 14-day disabled list.

Minium was 0-1 with a 5.65 earned-run average in 21 appearances this spring. He struck out 22 and walked just four in 28 2/3 innings.

Earlier this week, the RiverHawks signed former Buckeye Drew Rucinski. He made his professional debut on Tuesday and signed with the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.

Millan suffered a separated non-throwing shoulder and a bruised acromioclavicular joint, or AC joint, in the play that ended the sixth inning on Friday. Lake Erie first baseman Jason Taylor tagged Millan in the face. After contact, Millan appeared to then trip on the bag and landed on his left side.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 19th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
