Texas Stars News Release

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars, in conjunction with the Texas Stars Foundation, announced on Thursday that they have committed to raise $25,000 to fund a new Veterans Memorial in Cedar Park. Prior to the start of the season, the Texas Stars committed to raising funds toward the construction of the Veterans Memorial through two Military Appreciation evenings, with the first night held on November 20, 2010.

Fans in attendance at the November 20th game showed their support via participation in Chuck-a-Puck and through ticket purchases. During the March 5th game, fans will have the opportunity to bid on specialty camouflage jerseys game worn by their favorite player when the Texas Stars host the Houston Aeros at 7:00pm. Each jersey winner will also receive a meet-and-greet with the player after the game and the opportunity for photographs and autographs.

A portion of the proceeds from the two games, including the upcoming SportsClips Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, March 5th, will assists with the construction of the memorial. Photos and more information about the Veterans Memorial Park can be found at www.cpvetmemorial.org

In conjunction with its role as the presenting sponsor for the evening, SportClips has generously donated 500 tickets to be given to military families and veterans throughout our community. To date, more than half of those have been distributed to wounded veterans through Heroes Night Out, an ongoing charity partner, as well as to soldiers stationed at Camp Mabry and Fort Hood. Also in support of the Veterans Memorial, the Cedar Park location of Chick-Fil-A will donate a portion of sales on March 5th to the Texas Stars Foundation's commitment to the Memorial.

As part of the Texas Stars' ongoing commitment to supporting our nation's heroes, Roger Beasley Audi sponsors a Military Salute for every home game for the entirety of the 2010-2011 regular season.
