Loktionov Gets the Call

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forward Andrei Loktionov from the Ontario Reign (ECHL) and have placed forward Marco Sturm on the injured reserve list (lower body injury - retroactive to January 18), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Loktionov, 20, started this season with the Kings and played in seven games, recording two points (1-12) and two penalty minutes. He was assigned to the Monarchs on November 2 and in 31 games with the Monarchs he has 31 points (8-2331). His 31 points are tied for second on the club and his 23 assists are tied for first. He also leads the Monarchs with a plus-15 rating, he is tied for second with 100 shots and he is tied for first in short-handed goals with one.

Loktionov was transferred from Manchester to Ontario yesterday. He did not appear in any games with the Reign. He wears No. 12 with the Kings and is expected to play for the Kings tonight.

Sturm, 32, has played in 15 games this season with the Kings, his first with the club. He has eight points (4-48), a plus-five rating and 17 penalty minutes. He was acquired by the Kings from the Boston Bruins on December 11, 2010, for future considerations. He did not appear in a game with the Bruins this season.

The Monarchs will end their nine game road trip at the Dunkin' Donuts Center with a 7:05 p.m. match-up with the Providence Bruins on Friday, January 20.
