
TinCaps end Captains' perfection, 6-2

EASTLAKE, Ohio - The TinCaps held the Lake County Captains to just four hits in a 6-2 win Saturday at Classic Park. Jason Hagerty drove in three runs as Fort Wayne snapped the Captains' nine-game win streak.
RHP John Hussey delivered five strong innings to pick up the win, then LHP Juan Oramas and RHP Hayden Beard combined on four scoreless frames in relief.
The TinCaps got on the scoreboard in the top of the 1st as Lake County RHP Clayton Cook walked the first two batters of the game. Hagerty hit a two-out double to left to give Fort Wayne the early lead.
In the bottom of the 2nd , Chun Chen hit a leadoff home run to cut it to a 2-1 advantage.
The teams traded blows in the 4th and 5th innings. Jeudy Valdez's sacrifice fly gave the TinCaps a 3-1 lead in the top of the 4th , Lake County's Adam Abraham singled home a run in the bottom of the 4th and Nate Freiman lined a home run to left-center in the top of the 5th to make it 4-2.
The TinCaps plated a pair of runs in the top of the 7th . Edinson Rincon sliced an RBI double into the right-field corner. Later in the inning, Hagerty lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to push the lead to 6-2.
Rincon, Freiman and Wande Olabisi each had two-hit games for Fort Wayne.
Hussey (1-0) allowed two runs on three hits in five innings to grab the win. Cook (0-1) yielded three runs in four innings and absorbed the loss.
Fort Wayne upped its record to 6-4 while Lake County dipped to 9-1.
The TinCaps and Captains (Class-A Cleveland Indians) continue the three-game series Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Fort Wayne LHP Nick Greenwood (1-0) draws the start against Lake County RHP Trey Haley (0-0).
