
Gonzales Third Straight Home-run Game Lifts Snappers

With a pair of home-runs in the ninth inning the Beloit Snappers ran away late with a 6-5 victory over the Kane County Cougars Friday night in Geneva, IL.
The Snappers in the ninth got a two-run blast from Michael Gonzales who had a home run in every game against the Cougars. Later Josmil Pinto crushed his first home run of the season as he drove in three runs in the contest.
Earlier in the game the Snappers broke a scoreless tie as Wan Wei Lin drove home Angel Morales who had previously double in the inning, giving the Snappers a 1-0 lead.
The Snappers pitching unit continues to dominate hitters as they combined for 10 strike outs. This is the Snappers third shut-out of the season. Kane Holbrooks picked up his first win of the season as he pitched three innings of relief.
The "Brodie Trophy Player of the Game" goes to Michael Gonzales and Josmil Pinto. Gonzales went 1-4 in the game with a home run and two RBI's as and now leads the team with three bombs. Pinto went 1-4 with a home run and three RBI's.
The Snappers come back to Pohlman Field on Saturday as they take on the Clinton Lumberkings (5-4) with first pitch scheduled for 4:00PM. Tom Stuifbergen will take the rubber for the Snappers in the first game of the series.
