Wild Walk Off Prevail Snappers' Win
April 17, 2010 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Aaron Hicks scored on a wild pitch from Jose Jimenez in the 11th inning to give the Snappers a 4-3 victory Saturday evening at Pohlman Field.
Early in the game Hicks cracked his first home run of the season with two outs in the third inning to break a scoreless tie. The very next inning Angel Morales posted his first home run of the season to extend the Snapper lead, 3-0.
The Lumberkings came roaring back in the eighth frame with three runs to knot the game. In the 11th inning Hicks lead off the frame with a walk and would steal second and go all the way to third on a throwing error from Clinton catcher Steven Baron. With a two strikes on Morales at the plate Jimenez uncorked a wild pitch to score Hick to end the game.
Snappers starting pitcher Tom Stuifbergen is The "Brodie Trophy Player of the Game" as he went six innings of work and struck out seven batters in a no-decision effort.
The Snappers look to take the series victory Sunday afternoon as they take on the Lumberkings with Snappers ace Liam Hendriks taking the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00PM.
