The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club starts Thanksgiving
week with its biggest East Division lead of the season,
and the third-best point total in the American Hockey
League. The Chocolate and White kick off a busy four
games in five nights stretch this Wednesday at home
against the Providence Bruins. After a quick up and back to face Adirondack in Glens Falls, NY on Friday, the BEARS return home to face the Phantoms at Giant Center to complete the home-and- home set Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Wilkes- Barre/Scranton comes to call Sunday at 5:00 p.m. to close out the month of November. Big lead in the East: With three points out of a possible four last week, HERSHEY has opened up a six-point lead over second place Binghamton and Norfolk in the East Division race. The BEARS enter play this Wednesday having earned points in 10 of its last 11 games, winning nine during that span.
Carlson recalled to Caps: Rookie defenseman John Carlson was recalled to Washington Thursday and made his NHL debut Friday against the Montreal Canadiens at Verizon Center. The 19 year old from Natick, MA has 10 points in 17 games for HERSHEY this season.
Practice schedule: HERSHEY will skate at HERSHEYPARK Arena Monday at 10:00 a.m. and at GIANT Center Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. The players and coaches are available for interviews after practice both days leading up to Wednesday's home game against Providence.
Gordon the latest to go: Right wing Andrew Gordon was recalled to Washington after scoring a goal against the Binghamton Senators Friday night. He played his first NHL game of the season Saturday in Toronto against the Maple Leafs, and remains on recall as the new week begins.
Washington update: The Capitals continue a Canadian swing Monday with a game in Ottawa against the Senators at Scotiabank Place. Face-off is at 7:30 p.m. Washington returns home briefly on Wednesday to face the Buffalo Sabres at Verizon Center before again heading north of the border to meet Montreal at 7:00 p.m. The Caps maintain a healthy six-point lead over second place Tampa Bay heading into a new week of action.
