
Phil Coke promoted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that LHP Phil Coke has been promoted to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Triple-A) from Trenton. Coke will start for the Yankees on Tuesday night vs. Norfolk. At this time, Trenton will not add a player to replace Coke on the Thunder roster.
Coke was 4-1 with a 3.41 ERA in 11 starts for the Thunder this season. He had struck out 49 and walked 21 in 58 IP. He had a rain-shortened CG SHO on 5/7 @ERI. He scattered 4 H and struck out 7, without walking a batter in the victory. He went 4-0 in his final 6 starts for the Thunder between 5/2-5/31 (1.13 ERA in 32 IP). He had a 7-3 record in 17 G (16 starts) with a 3.09 ERA for Tampa in 2007. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in wht 26th round of the 2002 draft.
