Legends Unlucky on Friday the 13th

The Legends just couldn't seem to get lucky at Applebee's Park on Friday the 13th. Friday night's loss to the Asheville Tourists puts Lexington at 11-5 at home and 21-14 overall this season.

Although Lexington had a base hit in all but one inning, they couldn't keep up with Asheville's offense. The Tourists first baseman Joseph Koshanski hit a two-run triple to center field in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth.

However, things turned around for the Legends in the bottom of the sixth. They were down 5-0 when Hunter Pence hit his eighth homerun and Kevin Vital scored off Francisco Caraballo's two base hit.

Although Asheville opened the seventh inning with two runs, Lou Santangelo scored and Pence hit another homer over the bleachers in left field. This comeback wasn't strong enough for the Legends, and the 7-6 score held through the end of the game.

Game two of the four-game series is Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. where Ronnie Martinez will face lefty Jacob Postlewait. The Progressive Direct pre-game show will kick-off at 6:50 p.m. Fans are welcome to stick around after the game for the second fireworks display of the season.
