
Rome Announces Roster Moves

Rome, GA â The Rome Braves announced today that left-handed pitcher Kelvin Villa was promoted to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Carolina League. Villa was 2-1 with a 1.33 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 27.0 innings pitched for the Rome Braves this season. His 1.33 ERA ranked fourth in the South Atlantic League. On May 5 Villa combined with pitcher Matt Harrison to throw back-to-back complete game shutouts against the Greenville Bombers in a doubleheader. Villa faced the minimum 21 batters and collected six strikeouts.
The Rome Braves called up pitcher Arthur Santos from extended spring training. In 2004 while pitching for the Augusta Greenjackets, Santos was 2-3 with a 5.79 ERA in 42.0 innings pitched.
The Rome Braves will return to State Mutual Stadium on Tuesday May 17 to face the Augusta Greenjackets at 7pm. Tickets are on sale at the ticket office or by calling (706) 378-5144.
