
Zepp and Johnston Voted to ECHL Southern All-Star Squad

Estero, FL - The East Coast Hockey League announced today that goaltender Rob Zepp and rookie forward Marty Johnston have been voted to represent the Everblades in the 2003 ECHL All-Star game presented by Compuware at TECO Arena on January 21st. The second year netminder posted a league best 1.78 GAA and a .943 save percentage before being recalled to the Everblades AHL affiliate Lowell Lock Monsters on November 30th. While in Lowell, Zepp saw action in one game and registered a 4.62 GAA in a 5-5 tie last weekend. The Newmarket, Ontario native was also the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of November after going 6-2-2 with a 1.48 GAA and a .952 save percentage. Johnston is currently tied for fifth among ECHL rookies with 16 assists and is tied for ninth in scoring with 23 points. Both players were also reassigned to the Everblades by the Lock Monsters today and will be joining the team tonight in Pensacola.
Zepp and Johnston are joined on the 2003 Southern Conference All-Star squad by the Everblades Head Coach Gerry Fleming. Florida athletic trainer Todd Wisocki and equipment manager John Jennings will also represent the Everblades on the Southern Conference roster. The 2003 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Compuware will also take place at TECO Arena on Tuesday, January 21st at 7:30 PM.
The Everblades travel to Pensacola to take on the Ice Pilots on Friday night at 8:05 PM. Florida then returns home to take on the Ice Pilots in a pair of games at TECO Arena this Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 PM.
