Three Inferno Players Go to All-Star Game

Columbia, SC, December 19, 2002— The Columbia Inferno announce that center Rejean Stringer, right wing Justin Morrison and defenseman Corey Hessler have been selected to represent the Inferno at the 2003 Compuware/East Coast Hockey League All-Star Game in Estero, Florida on January 21, 2003.

Rejean Stringer will be one of the starters for the Southern Conference. He is in his second season with the Inferno and currently leads the team with 38 points (16g-22a). He is ranked seventh in the ECHL in scoring.

Right winger Justin Morrison, under contract with the Vancouver Canucks (NHL) is tied for ninth in the ECHL in scoring with 37 points (16g-21a). He was selected in the third round (81st overall) in the 1998 NHL Draft.

Defenseman Corey Hessler is tied for the lead with seven power-play goals among rookies, ranked second among ECHL defensemen in power-play goals and is tied for second in goals with eight. This is Hessler first professional season after playing four years with the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

Coach White said, "It is quite an honor for the players. These three gentlemen have had outstanding contributions during the first half of the season and I look for them to continue their strong play for the remainder of the season."

Dave Zeis, athletic trainer for the Inferno was also selected by his piers to represent the Southern Conference and the Inferno.

The Inferno face-off against the first place South Carolina Stingrays on Friday, December 20th at the Carolina Coliseum. Game time starts at 7:05pm. Individual tickets can be purchased for all Inferno games by calling 251-2222.
