ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - John Ely dominated New Orleans in the night cap at Isotopes Park as Albuquerque defeated the Zephyrs 8-4.

Ely allowed one run through six innings on three hits and retired 17 of 18 hitters from the first inning and into the seventh inning. The Z's touched him up for three runs in the seventh inning. Ely earned his eighth win of the season.

The Isotopes scored a run in the first, three in the third inning and added four runs in the sixth inning. The game was tied at one in the third when Scott Van Slyke drove home the go ahead run with a sacrifice fly. Luis Cruz added a two run home run and the Topes led 4-1.

Tom Koehler pitched five innings allowed four runs in the defeat.

The Z's scored three runs in the final inning, Donnie Murphy hit a two run home run. Chris Aguila hit his second home run of the series with a solo homer.

The Zephyrs dropped the conclusion of Thursday's suspended game 7-5. The Isotopes took three of four against the Zephyrs.
