Trenton Thunder News Release

The Thunder return to Trenton tonight for a much anticipated four game series against the Reading Phillies, Minor League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The pitching matchup tonight will be the most star-studded of the series, as Reading LHP Joe Savery (9-1, 3.24) gets the nod against Trenton RHP Zach McAllister (5-3, 1.81). McAllister is leading the Eastern League in ERA, and Savery is leading the EL in wins.

Another player to watch for the R-Phils is outfielder Michael Taylor (pictured). The former Stanford Cardinal is currently 4th in the Eastern League in hitting (.337 batting average), 4th in home runs (13) and 2nd in RBI (51). Taylor entered the 2009 season the No. 6 ranked prospect and "Best Power Hitter" in the Phillies Minor League System according to Baseball America. This weekend's games will feature a battle of top sluggers as Thunder catcher Jesus Montero is the "Best Power Hitter" in the Yankee farm system according to Baseball America.
