FLORENCE, Ky. - For the first time in 13 days, the Florence Y'alls hosted an opponent at Y'alls Ballpark, winning the second game of a doubleheader over the Joliet Slammers on Wednesday night.

Catcher and MVP candidate Trevor Craport led the Florence offense in game two, hitting safely three times, scoring twice and driving in a run. Craport added to his league-leading RBI total, which now stands at 67.

Second baseman Andres Rios also excelled in his first appearance since being activated from the injured list. Rios drove in two runs and scored another while also showing off his talented glove in the field.

Despite giving up a run in the top of the first, starting pitcher Frank Valentino was stellar in five innings of work to earn the win. Joe Dougherty closed the door on the 7-4 win with a 1-2-3 seventh inning, his team-leading 11th save of the season.

Joliet took game one by a score of 9-2. Florence reliever Edgar Martinez was dominant in a five-inning outing, recording eight strikeouts and allowing just one run. Starter Kevin Hahn was roughed up for eight runs, just two of them earned, in the loss.

With the split, the Y'alls move to 45-33 on the season and 2.5 games behind the Evansville Otters for first place in the Frontier League West Division.
