THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia beat Hagerstown 4-2 on Monday evening. The Suns took a 1-0 lead off Colten Brewer in the bottom of the first, but the Power tied the game in the second on an Elvis Escobar single that brought home Michael Suchy. Trailing 2-1 after four, West Virginia took the lead for good in the fifth. Jordan Luplow singled in the tying run, Connor Joe drove in the go-ahead run with a sac fly and Suchy singled home an insurance run. Brewer and Dovydas Neverauskas made the lead stick. Brewer earned his third win with a quality start while Neverauskas pitched the final three innings for his second save. Justin Amlung was charged with the loss. Suchy and Tito Polo had three hits apiece to lead West Virginia's nine-hit attack and guarantee at least a series split.

ONE DOWN: West Virginia and Hagerstown conclude their final series of the year today with the season set split at eight wins each. Hagerstown leads the all-time series 81-69. The Power have not beaten the Suns in any season series during the Pirates-affiliated era, having last won a season match-up 7-4 in 2008.

C-NOTE: In 11 seasons of Power baseball, only the 2007 club had a better record than the current edition after 100 games played. The '07 club was 63-37 after 100 games. The 2015 club has a .258 average, seventh-best out of 11 seasons at the 100 game mark, though no version has had a better staff ERA than this season's 3.34.

POTENT BREW: Colten Brewer earned his third win of the year on Monday, using his fourth quality start of the season to do it. The right-hander's last quality start was over a month ago when he bested Greensboro to begin the second half.

NEVER GONNA IT: Dovydas Neverauskas continues to excel as a member of the Power bullpen, having earned his second career save on Monday, one month to the day after he earned his first. The Lithuanian has made 12 relief appearances and has a 1.24 earned run average since shifting to the bullpen. Neverauskas has also strung together 14 consecutive scoreless innings, having last allowed two runs in an inning on June 30 at Kannapolis.

REYES ROLL REVERSED: Pablo Reyes seven-game hitting streak was snapped on Monday with an 0-4 performance. The second baseman's streak was his second longest this season, just behind an 11-game run in late April to early May. During this seven-gamer, Reyes hit .393 with 11 hits over 28 at bats.

#COLEY DAY: Austin Coley is one victory shy of matching the franchise record for wins in a single season. Evan Anundsen won 12 times during the 2008 campaign.

PLUS ONE: The Power are now 25-24 away from Appalachian Power Park this season with 20 road games left this season. Due to a postponement at Lexington in April that was made up in Charleston, West Virginia can only play as many as 69 road games this season.

PROMO UPDATE - JULY 30: West Virginia will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future with a theme night dedicated to the film and series. Fans can enjoy a postgame concert by Mighty McFly as part of the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance and the players will be wearing Back to the Future-themed jerseys to be auctioned off with all proceeds to benefit the research of Parkinson's Disease.

POWER POINTS: Nick Neumann is now three saves away from passing Nathan Kilcrease's franchise mark of 15 set during the 2012 season... Former Power pitcher Rudy Owens was signed to a Minor League contract last week by Colorado... West Virginia is a combined 5-7 in games started by Colten Brewer and Alex McRae in the second half and has gone 16-3 in games started by Stephen Tarpley, Austin Coley, Yeudy Garcia and John Sever.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was idle and plays at Minnesota on Tuesday... Indianapolis was tripped 4-3 at Columbus in 11 innings... Altoona beat Richmond 3-2. JaCoby Jones went 3-4 with a run batted in during his Double-A debut... Bradenton was rained out at Clearwater... The Black Bears were off on Monday.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App.
