October 27, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Austin Wranglers News Release

The Austin Wranglers and the University of Texas have finalized details on a four-year lease agreement allowing the Arena Football League team to play their home games in the Frank Erwin Center.

The Erwin Center served as the Wranglers home field throughout the team's 2004 inaugural season. The Wranglers are the first professional sports team that has called the Erwin Center home in its 27-year history.

"The Erwin Center is an incredible venue for the Wranglers," said the team's President Doug MacGregor. "First, it's in Austin, Texas. Second, it's centrally located in the heart of our fan base. Third, it is a great arena to watch an Arena Football game and filled with Wranglers fans it will prove menacing to our opponents. Finally, the technological capabilities the venue provides will help us offer unparalleled services to our fans."

Under Head Coach Skip Foster, the Wranglers went 6-2 at the Erwin Center and finished the season with an 8-8 record. An average of 11,120 Wranglers fans packed the arena through the team's eight regular season home games. The AFL will release the 2005 schedule in the coming weeks.

Austin Wranglers season tickets are now available to purchase or renew. To reserve seats or inquire about sponsorships for the 2005 season, call 512. 491.6600.
