Desperados announce 2005 schedule

Dallas Desperados News Release
The Dallas Desperados kick off the 2005 Arena Football League season on Sunday, Jan. 30 as a member of the Eastern Division. In addition to two games against New York, Columbus and Philadelphia, Dallas will face Austin, Chicago, Colorado, Georgia, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando and the ArenaBowl XVIII Champion San Jose SaberCats. Included in the schedule are five of the league's best teams from 2004 â each finishing with an 11-5 record.
NBC Sports will again televise weekly AFL games, with the Desperados scheduled to appear in five games as the network's featured broadcast.
The Desperados kick off the season by hosting the Chicago Rush at the American Airlines Center on Sunday, Jan. 30. The following weekend, Dallas travels to New York to take on the Dragons on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 6. Dallas then returns home, hosting games against the Columbus Destroyers, Sunday, Feb. 13 and the Orlando Predators, Thursday, Feb. 17. They close out the month of February with a trip to the City of Brotherly Love to take on division rival Philadelphia Soul on Sunday, Feb. 27.
Dallas opens the month of March at home against the New Orleans Voodoo on Saturday, March 5, before beginning a two-game road trip that takes the Desperados south on I-35 to face the Austin Wranglers on Sunday, March 13 and then on to Los Angeles to battle the Avengers on Friday, March 18. Dallas returns home to take on the Colorado Crush on Friday, March 25.
Dallas will take a weekend off with their bye on April 1-3 before hosting the league's newest team - the Nashville Kats - on Friday, April 8. Dallas then travels to San Jose to take on the SaberCats in a Friday night match-up, April 15, before heading to Columbus to face the Destroyers on Sunday April 24. To finish off April, the Desperados tackle division rival New York at home on Friday, April 29.
The final month of the regular season finds Dallas traveling to the "Sin City" on Saturday, May 7 to take on the Las Vegas Gladiators. They hit the road again the next week to play the Georgia Force in Atlanta on Saturday, May 14, before closing out the regular season with a battle against the Philadelphia Soul on Saturday, May 22, in Dallas.
